Kev's Music From A to Z
Here you'll find examples of the kind of music that I like to listen to.
This isn't a complete list of all the artists I enjoy, but it should
give you a good idea of what I might be playing in my car on any given day.
It's a pretty eclectic mix, ranging from jazz to pop to new age to
gospel -- just a little bit of everything, I guess (except for Country,
Western, and Rap. I do have some standards :)
- Abba (okay, so sue me)
- Basia and Benoit, David
- Corrs, The and Chicago
- Doobie Brothers, The (Old Black Water, keep on rollin' ...)
- E.L.O. and Enya (her sister's stuff is good, too!)
- Foreplay
- Genesis and Glad (super tight harmonies)
- Huey Lewis and the News (saw 'em live at Wolftrap!)
- Imperials
- Joel, Billy and John, Elton (saw 'em together in their 2001 Face To Face tour)
- Kansas
- Little River Band
- Manhattan Transfer, The
Monkees, and
Mannheim Steamroller
- Newton-John, Olivia
- Out of the Grey
- Police, The and Petra (vintage Greg X. Volz only, please)
- Queen
(I dug Bohemian Rhapsody way before "Wayne's World")
- REO Speedwagon
- Sting,
Steely Dan, and
Secret Garden
- Talbot, John Michael
- U2
- Vince Guaraldi Trio (everyone knows the "Charlie Brown" theme!)
- Williams, John
(Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, CE3K -- need I say more?)
- X-Files (okay, so it was a tv-show; Mark Snow's eerie background music added a nice touch)
- Yes,
and Yankovic, "Weird Al" (my daughter and I saw him live at Pier Six)
- ZZ Top and
Zero 7
