Hey Mom

Each Mother's Day at my church, we show a slide presentation of all the moms that have had new babies over the past year. One year I decided to take a well known tune, and change the lyrics to make it into a song for my mom. Now each year, the whole congregation sings this song on Mother's Day, and when we get to the end of the song (with the repeating "na na's"), we show the slides of our new moms with their new bundles of joy. It's always a crowd pleaser.

Verse 1
Hey Mom, enjoy your day.
Let me say that there's no one better.
Remember, you're always near to my heart;
That's why I started to write this letter.

Verse 2
Hey Mom, you are the best.
I'm so blessed that you are my mother.
I know now the sacrifices you made.
I'd never trade you for another.

Bridge
For nine long months you were my home,
Safe in your womb, until the nurse said "It's now or never."
And when she shouted out for joy, "Hey, it's a boy!!"
You knew that your life was changed forever.
Na na na na, na na na na.

Verse 3
Hey Mom, your love is true.
You kiss a boo-boo, and make it better.
So thank you for being such a great mum.
The years to come will get just better,
Better, better, better, better, better, yeaaaaah!

Outtro

Na na naaa naaaaaaa, Hey Mom!
